REGISTER

Register your team

For students aged 7–24 studying in Singapore, in three divisions. S$68 per student. Open registration, no cap, until Sat 2 Jan 2027, 23:59 SGT.

How finalists are chosen

Open registration, no cap. After submissions close on Sat 9 Jan, reviewers score every valid submission online (10–12 Jan), and 3–5 finalist teams per track in each division present live on Finals Day, Sat 16 Jan. Registering doesn’t guarantee a place in the finals. Every participant is welcome at Demo Weekend (Sat 16 – Sun 17 Jan), every team may exhibit on Sunday, and every valid submission receives a certificate. Every team hears by email on Wed 13 Jan.

Three key rules

Teams

Teams of 1–4. Your team plays in the division of its oldest member and can play up one division, never down. Register as a ready-formed team.

Payment

Pay within 3 days of registering. If you register near the end, your deadline is Sat 2 Jan 2027, 23:59 SGT, whichever comes first. Your exact deadline is in your email.

Refunds

No refund if a student withdraws. Full refund if we cancel. If we postpone, keep your place or take a full refund.

What S$68 covers

Resource pack · screening and judging · Demo Weekend entry · student lunch · certificates, whether or not your team is a finalist. Not included: devices, tools, transport, and lunch for accompanying adults.

  • A parent confirms every place under 21. Members aged 21 or over confirm their own place. Each family confirms for its own child, by email.
  • Teams with a member aged 12 or under on Sat 16 Jan 2027: a lead adult (a teacher or parent aged 21 or over who isn’t taking part) registers the team, looks after safety and comes to Demo Weekend. Each member’s parent or guardian also confirms their place.
  • Teams with under-18s and adults: each under-18 member’s parent sees the adult teammates’ display names and ages and agrees to them separately. Please read rule 4 first.
  • Everyone who confirms reads the Rules & Agreement, Privacy notice, Code of Conduct and Refund policy, and confirms separately for their own place or child.

Your division

Divisions go by age on Sat 16 Jan 2027, not school year. The form works out your division from each member’s date of birth, and you can choose to play up one division. You can change division once, until Sat 2 Jan 2027, never below your oldest member’s division. Find your division.

Four steps

  1. Fill in the team form (about 10 minutes) and pick your quest.
  2. Each member's parent or guardian confirms by email; members aged 21 or over confirm for themselves.
  3. The team representative pays for the team within 3 days. In a team with under-18s and adults, the representative is an under-18 member, their parent or a teacher.
  4. Your place is confirmed: your full challenge, starter card and resource pack arrive by email, and you can make your Player Cards.

Before you start, have ready

Team name (it’s also your hashtag: letters and numbers, no spaces) · each member’s full name, display name, date of birth, school and level · each parent’s or guardian’s email · members aged 18 or over: their own email · your quest (you can change once, until 2 Jan) · presentation language · dietary needs · any support needed to take part (optional) · number of accompanying adults (max 1 per student) · if a member is aged 12 or under, the lead adult’s details · University division: each member’s school or institution and level, or their 2026 school, 2027 place or NSF status · teams with under-18s and adults: please read rule 4 first · a referral code, if a friend gave you one (optional).

Pick your track

Pick one quest when you register. One track change allowed until Sat 2 Jan 2027, 23:59 SGT, using the link in your confirmation email. Read the four quests. Can’t decide? There’s a Spin for a track button just before the form.

Fee-waiver places

About 15 fee-waiver places are available for students who need financial support, in every division, including University. Apply with proof of school financial assistance or a short note from a teacher. No bank statements. If you don’t have either but have a real need, tell us briefly and we’ll review it. Two staff members review applications privately; judges and partners are never told. If some members receive a waiver, the rest of the team pays as usual. Your registration stays open while we review, your challenge unlocks once every confirmation is in, and we’ll reply within 5 working days. If more people apply than we have places, we decide by financial need and order of application.

To apply for a fee-waiver place, email support@ycess.com.

Event conditions

YAI Singapore · Season 26/27 goes ahead if the event conditions are met on Fri 4 Dec, including the number of confirmed students. If not, we’ll postpone or cancel and tell you by email. If we cancel, you get a full refund and your project stays yours. If we postpone, you can keep your place or take a full refund.

Keep the weekend free

If your team is chosen as a finalist, you’ll present on Sat 16 Jan, so please keep that day free. Every participant is welcome at Demo Weekend, finalist or not, and every team may exhibit on Sun 17 Jan.

Ready?

  • Open registration, no cap.
  • 3–5 finalist teams per track in each division present live.
  • Every participant is welcome at Demo Weekend (Sat 16 – Sun 17 Jan).

Can’t decide? Spin for a track.

Not sure which quest to pick? Hit Spin and we’ll pick one of the four at random. It’s just for fun: keep the result or choose yourself.

Once you confirm your registration, a spun quest is your choice, and your one track change still applies. Nothing here is saved or sent.
